Why Your Content Should Be Original

You have finally made the decision to do some online marketing for your offline business. In most cases this includes developing and implementing a blog for your business. It looks professional, it is easy to read, the blog is streamlined, and ready to navigate by the countless number of potential new customers on the Internet.

The next step in this process is to add some relevant content to your blog. You are at the point of trying to decide if the content on your blog should be original, or can you just find some interesting articles online that may interest your site visitors when they arrive at your site and add those to your blog instead. Let’s be realistic, just throwing up some “pre-written” content can save you time and possibly a lot of stress, but it is not best for what you are trying to accomplish. Plain and simple, your content should always be original.

For the main reason that those that arrive on your site are there with an intent. They put some keywords into a search engine for what they are specifically looking for and came up with your blog site. That is the good news. Now imagine if they see the same content they see on your site somewhere else? Not good for your credibility as a business, and you may in fact have just lost a potential customer.

If your content is original, that worry is gone. Sure, it may take a bit more time and energy. It may increase your stress level on occasion. These things are a given. Think of the benefits though. You do not have to worry about losing a customer over something so trivial. The content found on your blog site is your own and your customers will see and appreciate that fact. It will increase your credibility and garner you long term customers. It is well worth the effort.
